From Idea to Impact
Build, Develop, Validate
DEX IC connects technology development with real-world testing, user needs and practical adoption. We can move an idea to a working prototype or digital solution and help make sure it creates real impact.
1. Build
μFabLab: prototyping and hardware
A dedicated, full-time μFabLab in the centre of Liberec, staffed by our own technical team. We take a concept end to end to a tested physical device without standard external subcontracting, typically from TRL 4 to TRL 7. It is also a community prototyping hub where startups, small teams, students and SMEs can rent the space and build their own hardware. With the new AI3D-LAB project, we are bringing AI into hardware, embedded systems and prototyping.
- Industrial design (Fusion 360)

- In-house PCB fabrication (Voltera) and SMD pick-and-place
- Embedded electronics (Arduino, Raspberry Pi), sensors, actuators, IoT and cloud connection

- Workshops from basics to advanced for students, teachers and companies: 3D printing, programming, electronics, hackathons such as DEXIC Hack
What you get: a functional prototype, custom PCB, enclosure, sensor system, firmware, field-ready device, small pilot series and technical documentation, open-source compatible.
Example: Emergency lung ventilator: our own open-source device from the COVID-19 pandemic, at least 85 % 3D-printable and fully published. μFabLab also supports projects such as 4Steps and Second Chance (Erasmus+), a 3D-printing course for crafters.
2. Develop
Software and AI
We build production-grade software and AI systems as project deliverables, not just use AI tools, and we build non-AI digital tools just as much.
- Full-stack tools and applications: decision-support tools, calculators, workflow and data management, dashboards, data-collection apps
- AI and LLM engineering: multi-model orchestration and schema-enforced outputs

We work with existing AI models and build tested learning loops around them, so the system improves from feedback and results.
Example: We built our own document-intelligence engine, which runs in our internal production, and we build systems like this for projects.
3. Validate
Real-user testing and market adoption
We assess whether a solution, including an AI-enabled one, addresses real user needs, is usable and can be adopted in practice.

Challenge
Female founders outside startup hubs often lack access to tailored acceleration, validation tools, and investor visibility.
DEX IC's role
We co-designed and delivered a 7-week pre-acceleration programme. Our team provided mentoring, validation support, and investor pitch training for 20 early-stage startups.
Outcome
Participants pitched to international stakeholders at the Female Founders Summit in Tallinn. Several startups moved toward pilot testing and follow-up investment.
