SMEnergy

What is SMEnergy?
A two-and-a-half year transnational pilot project to help energy-intensive small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to switch to renewable energy sources. An SME is full of uncertainties and risks when planning its transition to renewable energy, both in terms of return on investment and the introduction of green energy sources. SMEnergy aims to make this easier for smaller companies and their service environment.
What is the project goal?
The main goal of the project is to increase the share of renewable energy in the Danube region among SMEs with high energy intensity by capacity building for sustainable energy use. Interlinked Transition Roadmap, SMEnergy centers (GEKOS), and the transnational database can fulfill a coordination gap, smoothly connecting SMEs and RES market actors. Involving hundreds of RES suppliers, SMEs, and numerous service providers from countries of diverse RES shares can notably change this landscape.
For whom?
- Small and medium-sized enterprises with high energy needs
- Suppliers related to green energy services
- For SME groups and other stakeholders energy management
